Major League Baseball set to host fifth free Umpire Camp of 2026
Major League Baseball will host its fifth and final Umpire Camp of 2026 at Maimonides Park, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Scheduled for Saturday, September 5th, the one-day camp is free to attend and open to anyone interested in pursuing a career as a professional umpire, improving their current umpiring skills, or learning more about the umpiring profession.
Participants will work with MLB’s Umpiring Department Staff, which consists of former MLB Umpires and current MLB Supervisors, to hone the skills necessary to umpire at all levels. At the conclusion of the one-day camp, select individuals may be invited to attend the MLB Umpire Prospect Development Camp at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida. This all-expenses-paid, four-week course convenes in January and provides invitees with an opportunity to compete for a position as an umpire in professional baseball.
New York marks the final of five free MLB Umpire Camps held around the country this year, following successful stops in San Francisco, Nashville, Albuquerque, and Vero Beach in 2026.
