Phanta Claus and Phillies Family to Serve Homemade Holiday Meals and Lots of Cheer at Local Homeless Shelter on Monday
WHAT: The Phillies will continue a 24-year holiday tradition at one of the largest homeless shelters in Philadelphia. On Monday, December 11, guests currently sheltering at Bethesda Project’s Our Brother’s Place will be served a home-cooked holiday dinner by the Phillies family.
All the holiday meals will be donated and prepared by Phillies front office volunteers, with food donated by The GIANT Company.
There will also be special guests as celebrity servers, including:
- Phillies broadcasters Ruben Amaro, Jr.,Larry Andersen,Scott Franzke and Ben Davis.
- 1993 National League champion Mickey Morandini.
- Phillies ambassador Scott Palmerand Executive Vice President David Buck, who will also welcome attendees on behalf of the club.
Plus, Our Brother’s Place guests will receive drawstring bags filled with personal care items, donated by SEI.
The event is part of the Phillies Season of Giving presented by SEI, a month-long initiative to pay it forward and celebrate the holiday season with various charitable events.
Bethesda Project’s Our Brothers’ Place is an emergency shelter for homeless men, providing three meals a day and supportive services, including referrals to housing and treatment programs.
