Home Run Robbery and Double Play by Adam Frazier of the Kansas City Royals
April 26th at Comerica Park – Watch It Here
Right fielder Adam Frazier of the Kansas City Royals earned his first career Play of the Week Award, and the fourth overall honor for the Royals. It is the first win for Kansas City since Bobby Witt Jr. won on May 15th of last year, joining the club’s two awards on April 11th and May 9th in 2022. With the Royals ahead of the Tigers, 1-0, in the bottom of the third inning at Comerica Park on Friday afternoon, Parker Meadows hit a ball to the wall, forcing Frazier to leap up and make the catch over the wall to bring the home run back. Frazier quickly finished off the play, throwing the ball to first base to double up Javier Báez. Additional Play of the Week candidates included George Springer’s long run and diving grab; Buddy Kennedy’s slick barehanded play; Taijuan Walker’s behind the back snag for the double play; the Braves’ relay to cut down the go-ahead run at home plate; Bobby Witt Jr.’s over the shoulder catch; and Kyle Isbel’s nice grab near the warning track.
