PHILLIES FINALIZE 2023 OPENING DAY ROSTER

The Phillies have finalized their Opening Day roster for the 2023 regular season. The 26-man roster includes 10 former All-Stars who have collectively earned 23 selections to the Midsummer Classic. Additionally, 22 of the 26 players have appeared in the postseason, playing 284 combined postseason games.

The Opening Day roster includes 13 pitchers (five left-handers and eight right-handers), two catchers, six infielders and five outfielders.

Pitchers (13): Left-handers – José Alvarado, Bailey Falter, Gregory Soto, Matt Strahm and Andrew Vasquez. Right-handers – Andrew Bellatti, Connor Brogdon, Seranthony Domínguez, Craig Kimbrel, Yunior Marte, Aaron Nola, Taijuan Walker and Zack Wheeler.

Catchers (2): J.T. Realmuto and Garrett Stubbs.

Infielders (6): Alec Bohm, Darick Hall, Josh Harrison, Edmundo Sosa, Bryson Stott and Trea Turner.

Outfielders (5): Nick Castellanos, Jake Cave, Dalton Guthrie, Brandon Marsh and Kyle Schwarber.

The Phillies also placed right-hander Nick Nelson (left hamstring strain) and left-handers Cristopher Sánchez (left triceps strain) and Ranger Suárez (left elbow strain) on the 15-day injured list. Right-hander Noah Song (low back strain) was reinstated from the military list and placed on the 15-day injured list.

Additionally, outfielder Bryce Harper (recovery from right elbow reconstruction/repair) was placed on the 10-day injured list and catcher Rafael Marchán (right hamate fracture) was placed on the 60-day injured list. Each of the 15-day and 10-day injured list transactions are retroactive to March 27.
