Pirates announce Spring Training Promotional Schedule
The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced a lineup of promotional giveaways and special days for spring training
this year. Fans are invited to Opening Day at LECOM Park on Sunday, February 25 as the Pirates take on the
Baltimore Orioles. The rest of the spring season will follow with a series of events that promise engagement for
fans of all ages, including:
• February 27 - Military Appreciation Day: The Pirates express gratitude to our nation's heroes on
Military Appreciation Day. Join us as we honor and celebrate the brave men and women who serve
in the military.
• February 28 - Manatee Education Foundation Day: Join us as we partner with the Manatee
Education Foundation which provides indirect support to the Manatee County School District
through a variety of programs that benefit students and teachers.
• March 3 - Youth Baseball/Softball Day: Celebrate the future of the game on Youth
Baseball/Softball Day, which will feature an on-field pre-game parade for local youth baseball and
softball players. The Pirates encourage young athletes to join us.
• March 5 - Senior Expo/Tote Bag Giveaway: The first 1,500 fans will receive an exclusive tote bag,
presented by Manatee Memorial Hospital. Manatee Memorial Hospital will also have various booths
set up with giveaway items.
• March 8 - Manatee Chamber of Commerce Day: The Pirates are proud to collaborate with the
Manatee Chamber of Commerce to celebrate local businesses and foster community connections.
• March 10 - LECOM Toothbrush Giveaway: The first 1,500 fans will receive a toothbrush, courtesy
of LECOM, to promote health and wellness.
• March 14 - Spring Breakout – Fans are invited to witness baseball's promising future stars. The
Spring Breakout game will bring together the future of Minor League Baseball as the Pirates top
prospects play an exhibition game against the top prospects in the Orioles organization.
• March 17 - St. Patrick's Day Celebration: Fans are invited to don their green attire as we celebrate
St. Patrick's Day with a festive atmosphere.
March 25 - Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County Day: Join us in supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs
of Manatee County.
• Ongoing Weekend Fun: Every Saturday and Sunday families are invited to bring out the youngest
Pirates fans to experience the thrill of running the bases after each weekend game.
• Alumni Autographs: Prior to every Saturday and Sunday game, a former Bucco will be signing
autographs on the concourse in right field. Those scheduled to appear include Neil Walker (February
25), Milt May (March 3), Mike Bielecki (March 10), Rob Mackowiak (March 16), Steve Blass (March
17), Jack Wilson (March 23) and Matt Capps (March 24).
