Pirates homestand highlights For Monday, May 10 – Sunday, May 16

The Pirates return to PNC Park for the third homestand of the season that includes a three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds and a four-game series with the San Francisco Giants.

With the easing of restrictions, some pregame activities will return to the field at PNC Park this homestand. In addition to on-field ceremonies, the Mrs. T’s Great Pittsburgh Pierogy Race will return to the PNC Park warning track in the middle of the fifth inning.

Monday, May 10, 2021 – Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (6:35 p.m.)

Healthcare Hero Days: The Pirates are offering all healthcare workers a special ticket discount for Monday, May 10 through Wednesday, May 12, games in honor of this week’s National Hospital Week. The week is an opportunity to highlight healthcare workers and the important ways they are supporting the community. The Pirates will welcome healthcare heroes each night. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 – Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (6:35 p.m.)

Pup Night: Tonight, members of the Pittsburgh Doodle Group will be on the Miller Lite Rooftop to enjoy Bucco baseball with their Doodle as the Pirates present Pup Nights at PNC Park. Each ticket package (2 person & up to 2 dogs) costs just $60. Due to continued COVID restrictions, seats are very limited and subject to availability. Tonight’s Pup Night packages were presold and are sold out The Pirates will announce upcoming Pup Night opportunities as restrictions begin to relax.

Mental Health Awareness Month: To help recognize the importance of Maternal Mental Health, Pirates Charities has partnered with Allegheny Health Network to support Blue Kangaroo, a non-profit focused on helping mothers and their children with basic needs such as clothing, school supplies, toys and food. The Pirates and Pirates Charities are proud to host this group in the Pirates Charities suite and present them with items donated by Pirates employees and Pirates Charities. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 – Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds (12:35 p.m.)

Military Wednesday: Tonight, the Pirates will wear their Military Wednesday camouflage uniforms in honor of our active and veteran military members. On select Wednesdays throughout the season, the Club will honor and support a local non-profit that assists military members, veterans and their families. Members of each group will be guests of the Pirates in the Pirates Charities Suite, where they will be presented with a check from Pirates Charities in support of the non-profit’s mission.

o Military Non-profit of the Game: Today, the Pirates will support Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans as the military nonprofit of the game. The group provides support for Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs (GAMSD) to build a campus in Western Pennsylvania to breed and train medical service dogs for those who suffer from visible and invisible disabilities including Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) or Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) with special focus on men and women who are veterans of the United States Military Service. During the game, Pirates Charities will present the group with a $5,000 donation to further their work in our community.

Armed Forces Day: Tonight, we honor and support our brave American military service men and women on Armed Forces Day. The Pirates will wear special caps and socks during today’s game. • Pregame Ceremonies: As part of tonight’s Armed Forces Day, the Pirates will host special pregame ceremonies to pay tribute to all military service men and women, active and veteran.

Special Military Discount: Tonight, and throughout the season, the Pirates are offering a special ticket discount of up to half off game tickets to all service men and women, active and veteran. MLB Honorary Bat Girl: Major League Baseball’s Honorary Bat Girl program was introduced in 2009 to raise additional awareness and support for the annual "Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer" initiative celebrated on Mother's Day. In seven years, thousands of unique testimonials have been submitted and more than 2 million fan votes have been cast. Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer is a Major League Baseball initiative supported by MLB charitable partners, Stand Up To Cancer and Susan G. Komen. This initiative raises awareness about breast cancer, while also raising funds to support breast cancer research. The Honorary Bat Girl program recognizes baseball fans who have been affected by breast cancer and who have demonstrated a commitment to eradicating the disease.

o Today, the Pirates will recognize the Club’s Honorary Bat Girl, Lesley Kaminski of Irwin. Lesley is a proud and grateful blissfully tired 39-year-old mother of three-year-old Cora. She is the wife to her amazing husband Mike, who has been her rock this past year as she battled breast cancer and completed chemotherapy. She is a beloved English teacher and assistant girls’ soccer coach at Norwin High School. She is self-proclaimed, certified yinzer.
