Pirates Homestand Highlights For Thursday, July 1 thru Wednesday, July 7

The Pirates return to PNC Park to open the ballpark to full capacity for the first time since 2019. The seventh homestand of the season includes (Re)Opening Weekend as the Bucs welcome the Milwaukee Brewers and followed by a three-game series with the Atlanta Braves.

This homestand is headlined by a postgame concert with Big and Rich, the first live large-venue concert in Pittsburgh since before the pandemic. Throughout the entire Brewers series, fans 21 and older inside PNC Park can visit the Crow’s Nest, Skull Bar, or Keystone Corner each day for a free Vizzy Hard Seltzer sampling, while supplies last.

Thursday, July 1, 2021 – Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers (7:05 p.m.)

Big & Rich: The American country music duo Big & Rich will play the first live large-venue concert in Pittsburgh since before the pandemic. All fans in attendance are encouraged to stay in their seats after the game to hear hits such as Save a Horse, Comin’ to Your City, and Run Away with You, live from a stage on the field.

Dollar Dog Night: As a special thank you to the fans, the Pirates will host Dollar Dog Nights, presented by Sugardale, on all Thursday night home games for the remainder of the season. During each Dollar Dog Night, fans can visit any North Shore concession stand throughout the ballpark and purchase regular hot dogs for just one dollar.

Beer Passport: Beer Passport ticket holders ages 21 and older are invited to a 90-minute beer sampling event that begins when gates open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available for as low as $32 for Upper Bleacher Reserved, and $65 for Pittsburgh Baseball Club sections. Friday, July 2, 2021 – Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers (7:05 p.m.)

Free Shirt Friday: Tonight, the Pirates host the first of the popular Free Shirt Friday promotion as the first 20,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a Pirates tee, presented by Peoples.

Miller Lite Happy Hour: Tonight, fans 21 and older are encouraged to start the night with the Miller Lite Happy Hour at the Crow’s Nest bar with drink specials and live music from the time gates open to 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

The Champs Are Here: Tonight, the Pirates will honor area Pennsylvania State Champion baseball and softball teams in a pregame on-field ceremony. Four area high schools took home the PIAA State Championship titles this year in State College. For tickets, visit fevo.me/piaa.

Saturday, July 3, 2021 – Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers (4:05 p.m.)

• Jim Beam Block Party: Today, the Pirates will host the first Jim Beam Block Party in two years! The party includes fun on Federal Street with live entertainment by Chris Higbee, drink specials and more starting at 2 p.m.

• Pirates Cooler: Today, the first 20,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a Pirates cooler bag, presented by Sheetz.

• Pittsburgh Kid: Today, the Pirates will welcome back and celebrate “The Pittsburgh Kid,” Neil Walker, in a pregame on-field ceremony. Walker will be joined on the field by his family to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in honor of his retirement from a 12-year Major League playing career.

Sunday, July 4, 2021 — Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers (1:05 p.m.) Independence Day

On the Field: In honor of Independence Day, today the Pirates and Brewers will wear specially designed caps that include a uniquely designed Club logo. In addition, on-field personnel will wear special red, white and blue socks, and wristbands.

Military Support: Today in honor of Independence Day, the Pirates will honor active and veteran military members in a pregame on-field ceremony, including World War II veteran, Paul Goettler, as the “Fan of the Game.”

• I Wear My Sunglasses: Today, all kids 14 and under entering PNC Park will receive a pair of Pirates sunglasses, courtesy of AHN.

Kids Day: The Pirates are proud to present the return of Kids Days to PNC Park! Come down early and join the fun as the Family Fun Zone will be open on Federal Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lined up outside PNC Park will be inflatable rides, baseball games, face painting, information about the Bucaroos Kids Club presented by Chick-fil-A, and more.

Monday, July 5, 2021 – Pirates vs. Atlanta Braves (7:05 p.m.)

Healthcare Workers Appreciation Week: The Pirates, in partnership with Power Up Trail Mix, distributed a total of 3,000 complimentary tickets to area healthcare workers as a thank you for their hard work and dedication. Throughout the week, all healthcare workers can take advantage of a special ticket discount for Monday, July 5 through Wednesday, July 7, as a continued celebration of Healthcare Workers Appreciation Week. The week is an opportunity to highlight area frontline heroes and the important work they are doing. For more information and to purchase tickets for as low as $10, visit pirates.com/healthcare. In addition, at the conclusion of each game, Power Up will distribute samples of their product to fans as they exit PNC Park.

This year’s auction will benefit Allegheny Health Network’s efforts to provide no cost mammograms to women in our community. For every $150 raised, one more woman will receive a mammogram. Military Wednesday: Today, the Pirates will wear their Military Wednesday camouflage uniforms in honor of our active and veteran military members. On select Wednesdays throughout the season, the Club will honor and support a local non-profit that assists military members, veterans, and their families. Members of each group will be guests of the Pirates in the Pirates Charities Suite, where they will be presented with a check from Pirates Charities in support of the non-profit’s mission.

o Military Non-profit of the Game: Today, the Pirates will support the Veteran’s Place of Washington Boulevard as the military nonprofit of the game. The Veteran’s Place at Washington Boulevard is dedicated to ending homelessness among Veterans in the Pittsburgh region. They offer homeless Veterans a safe, supportive, and regenerative environment as they gain the necessary skills to face real life challenges, secure permanent housing and lead productive and self-sufficient lives. During the game, Pirates Charities and Pirates Chairman Bob Nutting will present the group with a $5,000 donation to further their work in our community. This season, PNC Park is transforming to a complete digital ticketing experience to streamline the fan experience and remove as many touch points as possible.
