Roster move

The Pirates have activated outfielder Ka’ai Tom, who they claimed off waivers from Oakland last Wednesday (4/21).

To make room on the active roster, infielder Rodolfo Castro was optioned.

The 26-year-old Tom played in nine games with the Athletics, collecting his first Major League hit and RBI off David Price on 4/5. He was selected by Oakland off Cleveland’s Columbus roster in the Rule 5 Draft on 12/10. Tom will be wearing uniform #60.
