Rangers Place OF Wyatt Langford on 10-Day IL, Recall OF Alejandro Osuna from Round Rock

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Wednesday night’s game against the Pirates at Globe Life Field:

Langford, 24, exited Tuesday night’s game against Pittsburgh after the 4th inning due to right forearm tightness. The outfielder has started 20 of Texas’ 23 games this season, batting .238 (19-80) with one home run, 2 triples, 3 doubles, and 4 RBI. He has reached base in a season-high 11 consecutive games since April 6, matching the longest on-base streak by a Ranger this season (also Corey Seager, April 8-pres.).

Osuna, 23, has batted .262 (17-65) with one home run, 3 doubles, 8 RBI, and nearly as many walks (10) as strikeouts (11) over 17 games for Round Rock (AAA) this season, making defensive starts in rightfield (8), centerfield (7), leftfield (1), and designated hitter (1). The left-handed batter and thrower has reached base safely in 15 consecutive games (beg. March 29), tied for the longest streak by an Express hitter this season (also Justin Foscue, March 27-April 14), as Osuna has posted a .358 on-base percentage with 8 walks during his current run.

The Mexico native, who is embarking on his first stint on Texas’ active roster this season, saw his first career Major League action in 2025 with the Rangers when he slashed .212/.313/.278/.591 (32-151) with 2 home runs and 15 RBI in 63 games across three MLB stints. Over 15 games of Cactus League play this spring, Osuna batted .333 (11-33) with a .800 OPS and was optioned on March 23. He also appeared in 2 games of the 2026 World Baseball Classic for Team Mexico.

CHURCH ASSIGNED OUTRIGHT TO ROUND ROCK: Right-handed pitcher Marc Church has been assigned outright to Triple-A Round Rock. Church was previously designated for assignment by Texas on April 15 to accommodate the 40-man roster additions of right-handed pitchers Cal Quantrill and Gavin Collyer.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with two players on the 60-day Injured List (LHPs Cody Bradford and Jordan Montgomery).
