Rangers Place RHP Cole Winn on 15-Day IL, Recall RHP Gavin Collyer From Triple-A Round Rock

Anaheim, Calif. — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to today’s game against Los Angeles-AL at Angel Stadium:

Winn, 26, last appeared in the 8th inning during Saturday night’s game against the Angels, allowing 2 earned runs on 2 hits over 0.1 innings pitched. The right-hander has a 2-1 record, 5.59 ERA (12 ER/19.1 IP), 7 walks, and 23 strikeouts across 22 relief appearances this season, the 3rd-most games pitched by a Texas reliever in 2026.

The 25-year-old Collyer will be embarking on his second stint with the Rangers this season, having posted a 1-0 record and 2.84 ERA (4 ER/12.2 IP) with 8 walks and 10 strikeouts during his first stay on Texas’ active roster, April 15 to May 18 – his first career Major League action. He established a new Washington-Texas franchise record with 11 straight scoreless appearances to begin his Major League career from April 15 to May 9, before allowing 4 earned runs across his last 3 MLB outings. Collyer was optioned to Round Rock on Tuesday when Chris Martin was activated from the Injured List and made one appearance for the Express, last night at El Paso (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 SO, 15 pitches/7 strikes).

A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., Collyer is in his seventh professional season (all with the Rangers org.) and owns a career 19-24 record, 18 saves, and 4.31 ERA in 181 games/44 starts with Texas minor league affiliates after he was selected in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB draft from Mountain View (Ga.) H.S.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players on the 60-day Injured List (RHP Carter Baumler and LHP’s Cody Bradford and Jordan Montgomery).
