Rays open two-team, six-game homestand
The Tampa Bay Rays return to Tropicana Field on Thursday for a two-team, six-game homestand between the Baltimore Orioles (July 20-23) and Miami Marlins (July 25-26). The 2023 Rays season is presented by Bayfront Health.
Thursday, July 20 vs. Baltimore Orioles
- First Pitch: 6:40 p.m.
- Gates Open: 5:10 p.m.
- National Anthem: Performed by Morgan Bryant
- Color Guard: Presented by Pasco Young Marines Color Guard
- Ceremonial First Pitch: Thrown by Linda Olson, CEO and Founder of Tampa Bay Wave. Olson has supported 460 start-ups since 2013 with Tampa Bay Wave and has raised more than 700 million dollars to support the non-profits mission. Olson is a Tampa Bay native who is proud to give back and support the local communities.
- In-Game Presentation: The Rays Baseball Foundation will present Tampa Bay Wave with a partnership grant of $10,000 in support of their technology diversity supplier program.
Friday, July 21 vs. Baltimore Orioles

- Promotion: Wander Franco Bat presented by DEX Imaging. All fans will receive Wander Franco bat upon exit, while supplies last. One item per person.

- Ceremonial First Pitch: Thrown by Sonoma Kasica. Sonoma is a goal keeper locally for Florida premier soccer club and received her call up to the U17 US Women’s national team earlier this year. She traveled to England where she represented the US and played two friendlies against the U17 England women’s team. Sonoma has committed to play D1 soccer at The University of Notre Dame in the fall of 2024.
- Pregame Presentation: Heroes Award Presentation - The Rays and Bayfront Health will be honoring Janie Morales and First Responders from St. Pete Fire and Rescue and Sunstar for their heroic actions that saved a fan’s life after a cardiac arrest at a Rays game on June 9, 2023. Janie Morales will be presented with the Lifesaver Award presented to individuals that save the life of another under extraordinary circumstances. The First Responders will be given the Phoenix Award presented to individuals who treat patients who are dealing with cardiac arrest outside of the hospital. Chief Nursing Officer of Bayfront Health, Lorraine Parker, will present the awards before first pitch.
- In-Game Presentation: The Rays Baseball Foundation will present Ready for Life with a partnership grant. Since 2021, the Rays have donated $17,000 to Ready for Life.
Saturday, July 22 vs. Baltimore Orioles

- In-Game Presentation: As part of the Rays Community Fund Grant program, the Rays Baseball Foundation will present 25 nonprofit organizations with grants totaling $125,000. These grants help enhance and support current programs offered by community-based nonprofit organizations. The foundation has invested more than $2 million to nearly 400 local nonprofits through this program.

Ceremonial First Pitch: Thrown by Thrown by Marlynne Stutzman, a Special Olympics athlete from New Port Richey and the Special Olympics Pasco County Athlete of the Year. In April 2023, Marlynne competed in the Boston Marathon, crossing the finish line in 4 hours, 25 minutes. Marlynne represented the United States at the Special Olympics World Triathlon Games in Slovakia in May. She recently completed her first half Ironman, placing 1st in her age group, which earned her a spot in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in October.
In-Game Presentation: The Rays Baseball Foundation will present the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation with a partnership grant of $10,000 in support of their water safety programs for children.
Tuesday, July 25 vs. Miami Marlins

Reading with the Rays: The Rays will visit the Lealman Exchange Community Center in St. Petersburg for the third Reading with the Rays event of the summer. A Rays player and local author Davon Miller will read to children from 10 – 11 am. The event is open to the public. Reading with the Rays presented by Suncoast Credit Union is an incentive-based reading program that encourages Pre-K to 12th grade students to avoid summer learning loss by reading for 24 hours during the summer months. Tuesday’s Champion: Before every Tuesday home game, the Rays recognize a child from the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Children’s Dream Fund as part of the Tuesday’s Champion program, presented by RIPA & Associates. The Rays will host seven-year-old Skyla Almond from the Children’s Dream Fund. As part of her special day as a Tuesday’s Champion, she will meet Rays players and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Skyla, who is battling Ewing Sarcoma, enjoys swimming, dancing and shopping. Her favorite Rays player is Taylor Walls.
Wednesday, July 26 vs. Miami Marlins

- Lowe’s Home Runs for Hope: For every home run Rays infielder Brandon Lowe hits, he and his wife, Madison, donate $250 to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. The Rays Baseball Foundation also matches $250 per home run in support of Lowe’s “Home Runs for Hope” campaign. The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay provides a range of services to ensure that no one in the community has to face a crisis alone. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year as the community gateway to help. People who are struggling with a variety of crisis situations including sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts and other emotional or situational problems can connect to hope and healing.
- Hit The Buds: If a Rays player hits a home run in center field by the Budweiser Porch, there will be a BOGO Budweiser and Bud Light special at the next Rays home game.
- Randy Land: For every Friday home game fans can purchase tickets for Randy Land in sections 141 or 143 for $49. Tickets include a Randy T-shirt. - Budweiser Good Sport Designated Driver Program: Pledge to be a designated driver by abstaining from alcohol and signing up via the MLB Ballpark app. Provide your contact information, follow the confirmation link in your inbox and show at Gate 1 or Gate 3 Guest Services. Each fan who signs up will receive a small cup good for soda or water at Coca-Cola Refresh Stations. One winner each game will also receive a Rays hat.
- 50/50 Charity Raffle: This season, fans in the state of Florida can play the 50/50 Charity Raffle from home and in-person. - $10 Tickets: $10 Tickets are available for every Rays regular season home game. Seats are located within the Rays Party Deck (sections 341-355) or select areas of the Lower Level (sections 127-132 starting with Row PP). $10 Tickets are non-transferable, and
barcodes will not be available until 2 hours prior to first pitch with a maximum of 6 tickets per game, per household.

- In partnership with Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, Tropicana Field now has two Reverse Vending Machines in the ballpark that ensure a closed-loop recycling process. A Reverse Vending Machine can be found in both the first and third base food halls. For every empty bottle or can deposited into the machines, five cents will be donated to the Rays Baseball Foundation.
- Rays Autographs: Prior to every Sunday home game throughout the 2023 season, two Rays players will provide autographs for fans 14 & under. Autographs will be available from 12-12:30 p.m. and fans who wish to participate can line up beginning at section 120/122.
