Red Sox announce roster moves

BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today made the following roster moves:

Davis, 28, has made 14 appearances since Boston acquired him from the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 30, posting a 4.61 ERA (7 ER/13.2 IP) with 14 strikeouts and six walks. Eight of his last nine outings have been scoreless, including both appearances in September.

Sawamura, 33, was placed on the COVID-19 Related Injured List on August 31. He has posted a 3.09 ERA (16 ER/46.2 IP) with 10.41 strikeouts per 9.0 innings (54 strikeouts) over 50 appearances for Boston this season, his major league debut.

Gonsalves, 27, made three relief appearances for Boston after being selected to the major league roster on August 31, allowing two runs in 4.1 innings. The left-hander has also gone 4-4 with a 4.97 ERA (37 ER/67.0 IP) in 17 appearances (10 starts) for Worcester this season.

Peacock, 33, made two appearances (one start) for Boston after being selected to the major league roster on August 31, allowing nine runs in 5.1 innings. The right-hander is 34-31 with a 4.11 ERA (256 ER/560.0 IP) in 183 career major league appearances (84 starts) for the Washington Nationals (2011), Houston Astros (2013-20), and Red Sox (2021).

Bazardo, 26, has not allowed a run in 3.0 innings over two relief appearances with Boston this season, the first outings of his major league career. He was placed on the minor league injured list on May 22 and transferred to the major league 60-day injured list on July 5 with a right lat strain. Bazardo made three rehab appearances in the Florida Complex League and four with Worcester.
