Red Sox Foundation adds Corey Thomas and Katie Burke to its board of directors
BOSTON, MA – The Red Sox Foundation today announced the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors, Corey Thomas, Chief Executive Officer at Rapid7, and Katie Burke, Chief People Officer at HubSpot. In their role, Thomas and Burke will help develop and achieve the Foundation’s goals and mission of improving lives throughout New England in the areas of health, recreation, and education.

We are excited to have them as part of our inspiring group as we continue to grow the Foundation’s impact throughout New England.”

Thomas has been with Rapid7 for more than 14 years and has served as CEO and chairman of its Board of Directors since 2019. In 2023, he was appointed to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) and elected chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Prior to joining Rapid7, Thomas spent time at Parallels, Inc., Microsoft, Deloitte Consulting, and AT&T. Thomas is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts board of directors, LPL Financial board of directors, and Vanderbilt University board of trust.
Thomas is an active angel investor to technology companies and over his professional career, has served as an advisor to organizations undergoing technology transformation. He previously served on the US Commerce Department's Digital Economy Board of Advisors. Thomas received a B.E. in electrical engineering and computer science from Vanderbilt University and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
Burke has been a member of the HubSpot team for more than 10 years and has served as its Chief People Officer since 2017, managing the teams responsible for delivery and remarkable and inclusive candidate and employee experience. During her time leading people initiatives at HubSpot, the company has been recognized as a #1 Best Place to Work by Glassdoor and a Best Place to Work for Women and Families by Fortune. Prior to her role at HubSpot, Burke was the Director of Marketing and Corporate Partnerships at Athletes’ Performance (now EXOS) and a Director at the Glover Park Group, a leading public relations firm.
Burke also serves as the Chairperson for the Compensation Committee and Board of Directors for Paycor (PYCR), a public Human Capital Management company based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and as an advisor at Biospring Capital and 826 Boston. She is a graduate of Bates College, MIT’s Sloan School of Management, and successfully completed the Young American Leaders Program and the Women on Boards Program at Harvard Business School.
Thomas and Burke join seven other members of the Red Sox Foundation Board, which also includes Chairman Tom Werner, Linda Henry, Maverick Carter, Chad Gifford, Sean McGrail, Bridget Terry Long, and Linda Whitlock.
The Red Sox Foundation operates out of Fenway Park with 14 full time employees, a dedicated 50/50 Raffle sales team, the support of the Boston Red Sox, and thousands of volunteers.
