KANSAS CITY, MO (August 26, 2019) – The Kansas City Royals will host the Oakland A’s (August 26-29), Baltimore Orioles (August 30-September 1) and Detroit Tigers (September 3-5). Royals Charities will donate to a special fund at the Bishop Sullivan Center (August 27), host a clinic for Special Olympics athletes (September 3) and visit Operation Breakthrough (September 4). Monday, August 26 – Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
- Home Run To Health – The Royals and partner SunLife Financial will once again support a four-week lifestyle program through a school where students “earn” prizes each week through various exercise, diet and healthy living activities. Students at Eastwood Hill Elementary and their teachers and staff began the Home Run To Health program today with an assembly featuring former Royal Les Norman, Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy trainer Dylan Wilson and mascot Sluggerrr.
Tuesday, August 27 – Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
- Bishop Sullivan Center Visit – In partnership with Major League Baseball, Garth Brooks’ Teammates For Kids Foundation and Big League Impact, pitcher Ian Kennedy will join Royals Charities to present a donation to support the food pantry at Bishop Sullivan Center, 3936 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Mo. 64110, to help feed families throughout the year. The grant is part of the “Home Plate Project,” a partnership across all 30 MLB teams to target childhood hunger. In Kansas City, the grant will provide healthy items not normally available at the Bishop Sullivan’s pantry, including baby food, produce, dairy products and meat. Starting at 11:30 a.m., Kennedy will help bag groceries and distribute them to children and their families. Later that day, Royals volunteers will help serve a meal at the One City Cafe, the center’s new kitchen serving adults and kids a hot, nutritious dinner throughout the week.
- Dozier hosts Big Brothers, Big Sisters – Hunter Dozier is teaming up with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City for “Step Up Big with Hunter Dozier.” The third baseman will host 30 participants to the game and will meet them in the Interview Room following Royals batting practice. The meet-and-greet is part of his season-long program to recruit 17 new “Bigs” and raise $17,000 for the charity.
Wednesday, August 28 – Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
· Dream Factory – Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.
Thursday, August 29 – Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 12:15 p.m.
- Queens of the Diamond – The Urban Youth Academy will host its second annual fundraising event, Queens of the Diamond, featuring 30 teams of women leaders from the Kansas City community competing in a softball tournament at the Academy, while enjoying a morning of networking and team building. The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is open to ticketed attendees and the media.
- Naturalization Ceremony – The Royals will host a naturalization ceremony on the field of Kauffman Stadium prior to the game. More than 500 individuals from countries all over the world will take part in the special ceremony to become U.S. citizens.

Saturday, August 31 – Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
- Play Ball Team – The Royals and Major League Baseball are encouraging youth to play ball! Throughout the season, the Club will invite youth baseball and softball teams to enjoy a day at The K.
- Stars of the Classroom – Throughout the season, the Royals will join Missouri Lottery to honor outstanding educators through the Missouri Lottery Stars of the Classroom recognition program. Prior to the game, Missouri Lottery and the Royals will celebrate the achievements of a local teacher.
- Kennedy Hosts Veterans Community Project KC – For the third straight season, on each Saturday home game, pitcher Ian Kennedy and his wife, Allison, host a group in a fully-catered Dugout Suite. This day, guests from Veterans Community Project KC will meet Kennedy prior to the game and each guest will receive a special gift from the family.
Sunday, September 1 – Baltimore Orioles vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.
- Mystery Ball Sales for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation – Jamie Gordon, wife of Royals outfielder Alex Gordon, will join other players’ spouses and volunteers to sell mystery autographed baseballs to fans in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. The baseballs will be available for $40 each and sold in the Outfield Experience. Mystery player photos will also be sold for $25 in support of ALSF.

Tuesday, September 3 – Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
- Special Olympics Clinic presented by Price Chopper – The Royals will host 50 athletes from Special Olympics Kansas City Metro for a game on the field of Kauffman Stadium. Participants will play a friendly softball game in left field featuring select Royals players as honorary coaches. Following the game, the participants will receive a box lunch courtesy of Aramark.
- *50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson *–A portion of the proceeds from the daily Royals Charities fundraiser will benefit Giving the Basics. Fans logging on in Missouri can also participate in the raffle on-line at www.royals.com/5050.
Wednesday, September 4 – Detroit Tigers vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.
- Operation Breakthrough Check Presentation – Royals Charities and Overhead Door of Kansas City will present a check to Operation Breakthrough. Select Royals players are scheduled to join the organizations for the check presentation, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. at 3039 Troost Ave., Kansas City, Mo. 64109.
