Sal Frelick to Join Sargento and Hunger Task Force to Fight Summer Hunger in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers and Sargento are proud to team up with Hunger Task Force for Summer Sizzle, a part of the Sargento Double Helping for Hunger campaign, on Thursday, August 14. Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick will be onsite to engage with Milwaukee youth as nutritious summer meals, prepared by Centers for Independence, are served. In addition to receiving a free meal, the Brewers Street Team will be onsite to engage children in tailgate games, facepainting and more. Children will also receive a complimentary baseball glove to take home.
Joining Sal will be Karen Lepisto, Vice President – Human Resources and Community Relations at Sargento, Jonathan Hansen, Chief Strategy Officer at Hunger Task Force, and Cecelia Gore, Executive Director of Brewers Community Foundation.
The Summer Meals Program ensures that children receive free and nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner when school is not in session. Hunger Task Force is an organizer of the program and connects thousands of children with meals at more than 180 sites across Milwaukee County. Through this citywide collaboration, Hunger Task Force partners have served hundreds of thousands of free meals to Milwaukee area kids so far this year.
As a family-owned company and the Official Cheese of the Milwaukee Brewers, Sargento roots for the home team and local communities. With the Sargento Double Helping for Hunger campaign, Sargento donates $200 to Hunger Task Force for every double hit by the Brewers during the 2025 season. Since the program began in 2018, Sargento has donated over $346,000 to feed families in need. Sargento is proud to support this day of action and turn doubles into dollars to raise awareness of the importance of fighting hunger.
