Successful kickoff to the Astros 2024 season with Fan Fest presented by H-E-B

HOUSTON, TX - The Astros hosted a successful 2024 Fan Fest presented by H-E-B on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Minute Maid Park.

The official kickoff of the 2024 season saw 33,174 fans participate. Activities included autograph sessions, photo opportunities, games, Fan Forums, Q&As, play catch on the field, take swings in the batting cages, and more.

Astros Manager Joe Espada participated in Fan Fest, along with nine members of his coaching staff: Omar López (bench coach), Alex Cintrón (hitting coach), Troy Snitker (hitting coach), Bill Murphy (pitching coach), Gary Pettis (third base coach), Dave Clark (first base coach), Michael Collins (coach), Jason Bell (quality assurance coach) and Tommy Kawamura (game planning coach).

The Astros also had 17 players at Fan Fest, including offseason signee C Victor Caratini. He was joined by OF Yordan Alvarez, 3B Alex Bregman, RHP Lance McCullers Jr., SS Jeremy Peña, RHP Ryan Pressly and OF Kyle Tucker. The player group also included RHP Hunter Brown, C Yainer Diaz, RHP Shawn Dubin, RHP J.P. France, LHP Matt Gage, IF David Hensley, OF Corey Julks, IF Grae Kessinger, LHP Parker Mushinski and LHP Bennett Sousa.

Fan Fest is also the culmination of a successful Astros Caravan from January 17-19, which gave fans the opportunity to connect with players, alumni, broadcasters and front office personnel at various locations as the club approaches the start of Spring Training. This year’s caravan made visits to Corpus Christi, Tomball and the Woodlands on Jan. 17, Austin, Pearland and Central Houston on Jan. 18 and San Antonio, Katy and Sugar Land on Jan. 19.

The Astros and Rockets announced in September 2023 that they acquired AT&T SportsNet Southwest and effective October 3, 2023, the network will become Space City Home Network (SCHN).
