Texas Rangers announce several promotions in business operations
Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced several front office promotions in business operations, effective immediately
As part of a wide-ranging strategic ticketing and sales plan initiated by the move of the team into Globe Life Field, the Rangers have made the following promotions:
Dan Hessling – from Director, Season Tickets to Vice President, Ticket Sales
Nick Richardson – from Director, New Business Development to Vice President, Ticket Retention & Business Development
Katie Morgan – from Director, Business Analytics to Vice President, Business Analytics & Ticket Strategy
In addition, Assistant Vice President of Events Jared Schrom has been promoted to Vice President, Events.
Hessling will now oversee the group sales team in addition to his previous responsibilities managing season ticket sales. He has been with the organization since 2012 with extensive season and ticket sales experience.
Richardson, who has been with the Rangers ticket sales group since 2004, will add a new area to his business development duties, building out a long-term plan around the club’s renewal business, focusing on premium season ticket and suiteholder renewals. He will continue to report to senior ticketing leader Paige Farragut, who, as part of the re-organization, takes on the title of Senior Vice President, Ticket Retention & Premium Services.
“As our business continues to evolve, both from a new ballpark outlook as well as the ongoing shift in consumer patterns around entertainment choices, it is crucial that we rise up to meet those changes and the attendant challenges therein,” said Joe Januszewski, EVP, Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer for the Rangers. “Committing a portion of our talented personnel resources more directly to the customer experience and deepening our relationship with our most loyal and dedicated fans is a major step in that direction.”
Morgan will add the ticket operations department to her current remit heading up the club’s business analytics area. She has held several different roles in ticket sales and operations and business analytics since joining the Texas front office in 2008.
“Technology and data driven solutions will keep playing a larger and larger role in the way we effectively deliver our entertainment offerings, both on the Rangers and the non-Rangers events side,” Januszewski noted. “Synthesizing the analytics and ticketing operations under Katie’s leadership will help us operate smarter and more efficiently.”
Schrom joined the Rangers events department in 2013 and has added increased responsibilities with its expansion in the last few years.
“Jared has been instrumental in the growth of the Rangers events group and has had a hand in bringing some of the nation’s biggest sports and entertainment opportunities to Globe Life Park and Globe Life Field, said Sean Decker, Executive Vice President, Sports & Entertainment for the Rangers. “Under his leadership we are excited to continue the growth of the department and the development of the team.”
