Texas Rangers continue division chase with six-game homestand to begin the month of August

Arlington, Texas— The Texas Rangers continue their quest for the American League West Division title with a six-game homestand at Globe Life Field, Tuesday, August 1 – Sunday, August 6. The Rangers begin the month of August by hosting the Chicago White Sox and Miami Marlins for three games each.

The first two games against Chicago are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT, followed by a 1:05 p.m. series finale on Thursday, August 3. The series opener against Miami on Friday, August 4 is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Saturday, August 5 game is at 3:05 p.m. and the homestand and series finale is scheduled for 1:35 p.m.

Tickets for all six games at Globe Life Field can be purchased at rangers.com, by calling 972-RANGERS and at the Globe Life Field box office, which is located adjacent to the Southeast entrance.
Pregame tours are for sale August 1-2 against Chicago and August 4-5 against Miami and can be purchased at www.globelifefield.com/tours.

Coca-Cola Family Fun Tuesday is back for the homestand opener on August 1. Fans can enjoy discounts on ticket prices, parking, food and drink, plus meet Rangers players and/or coaches with a pregame autograph session from 5:30-6:00 p.m., presented by Golden Chick. Also on Tuesday, Dallas College alumni, students, staff, and fans are invited to Globe Life Field to showcase their school spirit. Wednesday, August 2 vs. Chicago is another Texas Chili Company Dollar Hot Dog Night. Continuing the school spirit, the Rangers are calling all Mean Green supporters for the University of North Texas Night. The Head Football Coach of the Mean Green, Eric Morris, will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Joining in the ceremonial first pitches on Wednesday will be Norm Hitzges. A former Texas Rangers TV broadcaster, Hitzges recently retired from a 48-year radio career in the DFW area. Tom Grieve, Hitzges’ former TV partner, will catch the ceremonial first pitch.

The series finale and last meeting of the season between the Rangers and White Sox is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, August 3.

On Friday, August 4, the Rangers welcome the Miami Marlins to Globe Life Field for the first and only series of the year between the two teams. When gates open at 5:00, the Pregame Happy Hour presented by Anheuser-Busch begins in the Karbach Brewing Sky Porch. Fans can enjoy $4 beers from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Former Rangers first baseman Pete O’Brien will sign autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley from 5:15-6:15.

The Rangers wear their City Connect uniforms Friday and Saturday against Miami. Ella B’s Restaurant will be serving food out of the Arlington Eats stand near section 101 for the entire Miami series.

Saturday, August 5 is the Baseball Bat giveaway, presented by Choctaw Casinos and Resorts, to the first 15,000 fans. The Pregame Happy Hour presented by Anheuser-Busch is in the Karbach Brewing Sky Porch where fans can enjoy $4 beers from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Former Rangers catcher Bryan Holaday will sign autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley from 1:15-2:15.

Children that participated in the Rangers’ Summer Reading Club can purchase a discounted Upper Reserve section ticket if they completed the reading requirements set by their local library. The six-game homestand concludes on Sunday, August 6 at 1:35 p.m. with a pair of Sunday staples for kids 13 and under - $1 Blue Bell Ice Cream and postgame run the bases.
