Texas Rangers Instructional League team to play four Texas Universities to conclude 2021 schedule

Arlington, Texas—The Texas Rangers today announced that the organization’s 2021 Instructional League program will conclude its schedule with four games against NCAA Division I universities during the last week of October.

Texas’ Instructional League program in Surprise, Arizona began workouts on September 27 and is currently playing a 17-game schedule against IL teams from the Dodgers, Guardians, Padres, Reds, Royals, and White Sox organizations that continues through Friday, October 22.

The Instructional League team breaks camp on Sunday, October 24 and a roster of approximately 40 players will travel to Texas to play the following schedule:

Tuesday, October 26 Dallas Baptist Horner Ballpark, Dallas 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 28 Baylor Baylor Ballpark, Waco 6:30 p.m.

Friday, October 29 TCU Lupton Stadium, Fort Worth 6:00 p.m.

All four games will be open to the public, and information on admission policies can be obtained by contacting the individual schools.

Kenny Holmberg and Carlos Cardoza, who managed Triple-A West Round Rock and Low-A East Down East, respectively in 2021, will oversee the Instructional League’s games in Texas.

The full Rangers 2021 Instructional League roster is attached. The roster for the games in Texas will be announced at a later date.
