Twins recall Stewart from Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Kohl Stewart from Triple-A Rochester.

Stewart, who will be in his fifth stint with the Twins this season, appeared in four games with Minnesota, going 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA (17.1 IP, 8 ER), five walks and four strikeouts. In 14 games (13 starts) for the Red Wings this season, he has gone 5-5 with a 6.28 ERA (61.2 IP, 43 ER), 33 walks and 58 strikeouts.

To make room for Stewart on the 25-man roster, the Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Matt Magill for release or assignment. Magill appeared in 28 games this season, going 2-0 with a 4.45 ERA (28.1 IP, 14 ER), 15 walks and 36 strikeouts.
