Twins reinstate Mitch Garver from paternity list

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated catcher Mitch Garver from the Paternity List.

Garver and his wife Sarah had their first child, a son named Gamble Lynn on Thursday afternoon. Garver is batting .230 (28-for-122) with eight doubles, 10 home runs, 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and an .884 OPS in 43 games this season.

To make room for Garver on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned catcher Ben Rortvedt to Triple-A St. Paul. Rortvedt replaced Garver during his Paternity Leave but did not appear for the Twins during this recent stint.
