Washington Nationals announce roster moves

The Washington Nationals made the following roster moves on Monday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcements.

Corbin, 33, last toed the rubber on June 9 vs. Texas when he tossed 7.0 innings of five-hit, one-run ball in Washington’s 7-2 win over the AL West-leading Rangers. In three starts prior to the All-Star break, Corbin went 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA (7 ER/19.0 IP) and 17 strikeouts against just four walks.

La Sorsa, 25, returns for his second stint with the Nationals after being claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays on June 8. He pitched to a 2.84 ERA with nine strikeouts and two walks in six games with Triple-A Rochester. He tossed 2.0 innings of one-hit, shutout ball with four strikeouts in his last outing on July 14 at Syracuse (NYM).

Munoz, 23, went 3-3 with a 3.89 ERA in 22 games (four starts) across three levels of Atlanta’s Minor League system in 2023. He struck out 40 batters and allowed three home runs in 39.1 innings pitched. Munoz was originally signed by Atlanta as a non-drafted free agent, Jun 11, 2018.

Adon, 24, appeared in two games in relief and posted a 5.40 ERA.

Harvey, 28, went 3-4 with nine saves and a 3.12 ERA in 39 games out of Washington’s bullpen.
