White Sox make five roster moves

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox announced the following five roster moves:

Nastrini, 24, is rated by Baseball America as the No. 3 prospect in the White Sox organization and No. 8 by MLB Pipeline. He is 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA (6 ER/7.0 IP) and 13 strikeouts over two starts at Charlotte this season. Nastrini struck out eight batters over 4.0 IP in his last start on April 9 at Jacksonville.

Nastrini, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, was acquired from the Dodgers on July 28, 2023 with right-hander Jordan Leasure and outfielder Trayce Thompson in exchange for right-handers Joe Kelly and Lance Lynn. Leasure made the White Sox Opening Day roster and has thrown 5.1 scoreless IP over his first five MLB appearances.

Nastrini has gone 15-10 with a 3.99 ERA (112 ER/252.1 IP) and 353 strikeouts (12.6 per 9.0 IP) in 61 starts over four minor-league seasons. He originally was selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2021 draft out of UCLA.

Jiménez, 27, has been on the injured list since April 1 with a left adductor strain. He is 2-11 (.182) in three games this season.

Anderson, 31, made two appearances with the Sox after his contract was selected from Charlotte on Friday, allowing two runs in 2.1 IP.

Remillard, 30, has appeared in two games with the White Sox this season, going 1-5 with a run scored.

Stassi, 33, has been on the injured list since March 25 with left hip inflammation. He was acquired from Atlanta on December 9.

Following the moves, Chicago’s 40-man roster remains at 40.
