Randy Arozarena Named American League All-Star
SEATTLE – Major League Baseball announced today outfielder Randy Arozarena has been selected to the American League roster for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Arozarena was elected to the All-Star Game via player balloting.
Arozarena (ah-row-sah-RAY-nah), 31, is batting .287 (86x300) with 54 runs, 21 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 41 RBI, 32 walks and 19 stolen bases, getting on base at a .376 clip, slugging .453 with an .829 OPS in 82 games this season.
Arozarena is a three-time All-Star (2023, ’25-’26) and has made the Midsummer Classic in each of the last two seasons with Seattle. He is the 15th player in Mariners history to make multiple All-Star teams with the club, joining Ken Griffey Jr. (10x), Ichiro Suzuki (10x), Edgar Martinez (7x), Félix Hernández (6x), Randy Johnson (5x), Alex Rodriguez (4x), Robinson Canó (3x), Nelson Cruz (3x), Julio Rodríguez (3x), Bret Boone (2x), Freddy Garcia (2x), Andrés Muñoz (2x), Harold Reynolds (2x) and Kazuhiro Sasaki (2x).
Randy is one of two players with 20+ home runs and 20+ stolen bases in each of the last five seasons (2021-25), along with Cleveland’s José Ramírez.
The Mantua, Cuba native is the 14th Cuban-born player in AL/NL history to make at least three All-Star Games, joining Hall of Famers Minnie Miñoso, Tony Oliva and Tony Pérez, along with Camilo Pascual, Mike Cuellar, Leo Cárdenas, Cookie Rojas, Luis Tiant, Bert Campaneris, Jose Canseco and Rafael Palmeiro, and fellow active players Aroldis Chapman and Yordan Alvarez.
In 883 career games across 8 Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2019), Tampa Bay Rays (2020-24) and Mariners (2024-c), Arozarena has accumulated 19.5 wins above replacement (Baseball-Reference) with a .783 OPS. He has hit .254 (815x3212) with 506 runs scored, 181 doubles, 11 triples, 127 home runs, 431 RBI, 359 walks and 150 stolen bases, posting a .347 on-base percentage and .436 slugging percentage.
Arozarena was a 2024 Trade Deadline acquisition of Seattle, with the Mariners acquiring him from Tampa Bay in exchange for minor leaguers Brody Hopkins, Aidan Smith and a player to be named later (Ty Cummings) on July 26, 2024. Randy won the 2021 AL Rookie of the Year with the Rays and excelled in the Postseason during the 2020-21 seasons, hitting 10 home runs during the 2020 playoffs while collecting the ALCS MVP that season.
