Rays Announce Donation Campaign to Benefit World Central Kitchen

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Tampa Bay Rays announced that the Rays Up Foundation commits $100,000 to the nonprofit, World Central Kitchen, to help provide relief and rescue efforts to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela.

“Our hearts are with the people of Venezuela as they face the devastating impact of these earthquakes,” said Rays Chief Executive Officer Ken Babby. “At the Rays, we believe in using our platform to support communities in times of need. Through the Rays Up Foundation, we are proud to partner with World Central Kitchen in providing immediate relief and critical resources to those affected as they begin the difficult process of recovery.”

The Rays annual Venezuelan Heritage Night is scheduled for Monday, July 6 at Tropicana Field when the Rays take on the New York Yankees. A pregame gathering is scheduled in the Rays Hall of Fame Bar and Grill beginning when gates open at 5:10 p.m. until first pitch at 6:40 p.m.

Fans at the game can upgrade tickets to include the Venezuelan Heritage Ticket Package for $20 to receive an exclusive Venezuelan Heritage jersey, while supplies last, or a Rays hat. Upgrades can be ordered at the Redemption Center, behind Section 108, near the First Base Food Hall. All proceeds benefit the World Central Kitchen's earthquake response efforts in Venezuela.
