Red Sox Announce Roster Moves

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:

Early, 24, started last night vs. the Washington Nationals, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings before being removed from the game. The left-hander has gone 7-5 with a 3.44 ERA (35 ER/91.2 IP) with 93 strikeouts in 17 starts this season. Selected by the Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, the Virginia native has posted a 3.24 ERA (40 ER/111.0 IP) with 122 strikeouts in 21 career Major League starts, all with the Red Sox (2025-26).

Morán, 29, was placed on the Injured List on June 6 (retroactive to June 5) with left elbow inflammation and made two rehab outings with Worcester, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and one hit allowed. The left-hander has pitched in 21 games (three starts) for Boston this season, posting a 3.00 ERA (11 ER/33.0 IP) while holding opponents to a .172 batting average (20-for-116). Selected by the Minnesota Twins in the seventh round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, the Puerto Rico native owns a 3.94 ERA (56 ER/128.0 IP) with 155 strikeouts in 102 career Major League games (three starts) with the Twins (2021-23) and Red Sox (2025-26).

Gamboa, 29, has made two appearances for Boston this season, his Major League debut, retiring all five batters faced. The left-hander has also pitched in 13 games (six starts) for Worcester this year, recording a 3.21 ERA (15 ER/42.0 IP) with 40 strikeouts. Originally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the ninth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the California native owns a 4.12 ERA (184 ER/401.2 IP) in 144 career minor league games (47 starts).
