Red Sox Announce Roster Moves

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:

The Red Sox’ 40-man roster is now at 39.

Bello, 27, has posted a 6.34 ERA (43 ER/61.0 IP) with 44 strikeouts in 12 games (eight starts) this season for Boston. The right-hander has also made four starts for Triple-A Worcester, recording a 4.34 ERA (9 ER/18.2 IP) with 22 strikeouts. Signed by Boston as an international free agent in July 2017, the Dominican Republic native has gone 41-42 with a 4.32 ERA (290 ER/604.1 IP) and 508 strikeouts in 112 career Major League games (105 starts), all with the Red Sox (2022-26).

Sogard, 28, was placed on the 10-Day Injured List on June 3 (retroactive to May 31) with a right oblique strain and played in six rehab games between Triple-A Worcester (three games) and Double-A Portland (three), making two starts at second base, two at shortstop, one at first base, and one at third base. The switch-hitter has played in 12 Major League games for Boston this season, batting .257 (9-for-35), and in 42 minor league games between Worcester (39) and Portland (3), hitting .264 (39-for-148) with 10 doubles, one triple, five home runs, 26 RBI, and an .860 OPS. Originally selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 12th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the California native has batted .264 (55-for-208) in 73 career Major League games, all with the Red Sox (2024-26).

Coulombe, 36, pitched 2.0 scoreless innings yesterday against the Mets. The left-hander has pitched in 29 games this season for Boston, posting a 4.50 ERA (11 ER/22.0 IP) with 10 strikeouts. Originally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 25th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, the Missouri native owns a 3.43 ERA (129 ER/338.2 IP) in 372 career Major League games (two starts) with the Dodgers (2014-15), Athletics (2015-18), Minnesota Twins (2020-22, 2025), Baltimore Orioles (2023-24), Texas Rangers (2025), and Red Sox (2026).
