Red Sox Announce Roster Moves

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:

Eaton, 29, has played in 23 games this season for Boston, going 7-for-48 with two doubles and one home run while making six starts in left field, six in center field, and three in right field. The right-handed hitter has also played in 84 games for Triple-A Worcester this year, hitting .253 (79-for-312) with 16 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 44 RBI, 58 runs scored, and a .748 OPS while making 49 starts in center field, 15 in right field, 12 in left field, and three as the designated hitter. Originally selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 21st round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, the Virginia native has hit .219 (63-for-288) in 136 career Major League Games for the Royals (2022-23) and Red Sox (2025-26).

Olds, 27, has posted a 1.20 ERA (2 ER/15.0 IP) with 20 strikeouts in 13 relief outings for Boston this season, his Major League debut. The right-hander has also posted a 5.33 ERA (30 ER/50.2 IP) with 74 strikeouts in 39 games this year for Triple-A Worcester. Selected by the Red Sox in the seventh round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Oklahoma native owns a 5.88 ERA (254 ER/389.0 IP) with 489 strikeouts in 185 career minor league games (42 starts).

Houck, 30, was placed on the 60-Day Injured List on February 10, recovering from surgery on his right ulnar collateral ligament. The right-hander made four rehab appearances with Double-A Portland (two games) and Triple-A Worcester (two games), allowing four runs (three earned) and three hits across 8.0 innings, with four walks and nine strikeouts. Selected by Boston in the first round (No. 24 overall) of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, the Missouri native owns a 3.97 ERA (209 ER/474.1 IP) with 449 strikeouts in 113 career Major League games (80 starts), all with the Red Sox (2020-25).

Gasper, 30, has played in 67 games with Boston this season, batting .251 (48-for-191) with nine doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 24 RBI and an .823 OPS, while making 28 starts as the designated hitter, 14 as the catcher, and 10 at first base. The switch-hitter has also played in 54 games this year for Triple-A Worcester, hitting .337 (66-for-196) with 18 doubles, nine home runs, 42 RBI, 42 walks, 41 runs scored, a .450 on-base percentage, and a 1.016 OPS. Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the 27th round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft, the New Hampshire native has hit .207 (63-for-304) in 125 career Major League games for the Red Sox (2024, 2026) and Minnesota Twins (2025).

Guerrero, 35, has recorded a 3.10 ERA (14 ER/40.2 IP) with 41 strikeouts in 40 games for Boston this season. The right-hander has also posted a 0.92 ERA (2 ER/19.2 IP) with 22 strikeouts in 15 relief outings for Triple-A Worcester this year. Originally signed as an international free agent by the San Diego Padres in May 2010, the Colombia native owns a 5.03 ERA (82 ER/146.2 IP) with 152 strikeouts in 153 career Major League games with the Padres (2016), Miami Marlins (2018-19), and Red Sox (2026).

White, 32, was placed on the 10-Day Injured List on September 11 (retroactive to September 9) with a right foot ligament injury. He has played in 96 games between the Atlanta Braves (69 games) and Red Sox (27 games) this season, batting .246 (47-for-191) with 27 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, six home runs, 29 RBI, and five stolen bases. The right-handed hitter has made 20 starts in right field, 14 in left field, 13 in center field, and one as the designated hitter. Originally selected by the Athletics in the 11th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, the South Carolina native has hit .216 (184-for-851) with 28 doubles, six triples, 26 home runs, and 96 RBI in 372 career Major League games with the Texas Rangers (2020-22), Braves (2023-26), and Red Sox (2026).

Paez, 22, has pitched in five Major League games (one start) this season with the Chicago White Sox (three games) and Red Sox (two games, one start), his Major League debut, allowing 14 runs with eight strikeouts over 11.2 innings. The right-hander has also posted a 3.69 ERA (29 ER/70.2 IP) with 82 strikeouts in 22 games (12 starts) between Double-A Portland (17 games, seven starts) and Triple-A Worcester (five starts) this season. Signed by Boston as an international free agent in January 2021, the Venezuela native owns a 3.31 ERA (139 ER/378.1 IP) with a 1.05 WHIP and 389 strikeouts in 95 career minor league games (70 starts).
