Red Sox Announce Winners of 2026 Minor League Awards

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the winners of the organization’s 2026 Minor League Awards:

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Wyatt Olds has been recognized as the 2026 recipient of the Lou Gorman Award. Created in 2011, the award is given annually to a Red Sox minor league player who has demonstrated dedication and perseverance in overcoming obstacles while working his way to the Major League team.

The 2026 Minor League Awards are selected by the Red Sox baseball operations department and minor league roving instructors. The recipients will be honored during a pre-game, on-field ceremony at Fenway Park tomorrow prior to Boston’s 6:05 p.m. game against the Chicago Cubs.

Brown, 22, is ranked by MLB.com as the Red Sox’ No. 19 prospect, and by Baseball America as the Red Sox’ No. 26 prospect. The left-hander posted a 3.46 ERA (41 ER/106.2 IP) with 143 strikeouts and a .236 opponent batting average over two minor league levels during his first professional season. He made five starts for Single-A Salem and pitched in 17 games (16 starts) for High-A Greenville. The Pennsylvania native led all Red Sox minor leaguers in strikeouts and ranked third in ERA (min. 60.0 IP), tied for fourth in starts, and fifth in innings pitched. Selected by the Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, he was signed by Wallace Rios.

Arias, 20, is ranked as baseball’s No. 2 overall prospect by Baseball America and No. 3 overall by MLB.com. The right-handed hitter played in 117 games between Double-A Portland (75 games) and Triple-A Worcester (42 games), batting .323 (145-for-449) with 28 doubles, one triple, 25 home runs, 78 runs scored, 91 RBI, 53 walks, nine stole bases, and a .957 OPS. The Venezuela native led all Red Sox minor leaguers in hits, home runs, XBH (54), RBI, and total bases (250). Among 111 players with at least 500 PA between Double-A and Triple-A, he ranked first in AVG (.323) and OPS (.957), third in SLG (.557), and tied for tenth in OBP (.400). Named this year’s Eastern League Most Valuable Player and Top MLB prospect, Arias was signed as an international free agent in January 2023 by Alex Requena, Rolando Pino, and Eddie Romero.

Rodriguez, 20, is ranked by both MLB.com and Baseball America as the Red Sox’ No. 24 prospect and No. 2 catching prospect. The right-handed hitter played in 89 games for High-A Greenville, making 55 starts at catcher, 18 as the designated hitter, and 15 at first base. He threw out 22.9 percent of runners attempting to steal (38 of 166) and led the Red Sox organization in runners caught stealing. Among Red Sox farmhands, he ranked third in innings caught (486.2). The Venezuela native was signed by Cesar Morillo and Rolando Pino as an international free agent in January 2023.

Opata, 22, made his professional debut in 2026, playing in 103 games for Single-A Salem. The right-handed hitter batted .257 (95-for-369) with 15 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, 81 runs scored, 56 RBI, 65 walks, and 54 stolen bases, while making 64 starts in right field, 38 in left field, and one as the designated hitter. The Georgia native ranked second among all Red Sox minor leaguers in stolen bases, fourth in runs scored, and fifth in successful steal percentage, going 54-for-62 (87.1%) in stolen base attempts (min. 30 attempts). He also ranked second in the Carolina League in stolen bases and tied for fifth in runs scored. Opata was signed as a non-drafted free agent in July 2025 by Spencer Brown.

Ramirez, 17, batted .320 (48-for-150) in 45 games for the Dominican Summer League Red Sox Red, leading the team in doubles (14), home runs (five), RBI (30), total bases (83), OBP (.443), SLG (.553), and OPS (996). The left-handed hitter was selected to represent the American League at the 2026 DSL All-Star Game. He ranked among DSL leaders in doubles (13th), extra-base-hits (15th, 22), slugging percentage (20th), and OPS (21st). The Dominican Republic native made 40 starts in center field and four as the designated hitter. Ramirez was signed as an international free agent in January 2026 by Esau Medina and Eddie Romero.

Jimenez, 20, pitched in nine games (eight starts) for the Dominican Summer League Red Sox Blue, going 1-3 with a 2.73 ERA (10 ER/33.0 IP), 1.39 WHIP, .185 opponent average (22-for-119), and 43 strikeouts. The right-hander held opponents to two or fewer runs in six of his nine outings. The Dominican Republic native pitched 8.2 consecutive scoreless innings beginning on June 4 through the second inning on June 18, allowing two hits and six walks over that span while striking out 14 batters. Jimenez was signed as an international free agent in March 2026 by JC Calderon and Mark Heil.

Olds, 27, began the season with Triple-A Worcester, pitching in 39 games before being selected to the Major League roster on August 17 and making his Major League debut that night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. With Boston, the right-hander has posted a 1.20 ERA (2 ER/15.0 IP) in 13 games, including his first career win on August 22 against the San Franciso Giants. Olds led Red Sox minor league pitchers in appearances during 2024 (43), tied for third most in 2025 (42), and ranked first this season at the time of his selection on August 17 (39). Selected by the Red Sox in the seventh round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Oklahoma native has recorded a 5.88 ERA (254 ER/389.0 IP) in 185 career minor league games (42 starts). He played for Glendale in the Arizona Fall League following the 2023 season and Caguas of the Puerto Rican Winter League following the 2025 season.
