Red Sox Sign 2019 Draft Selection OF Stephen Scott
BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today signed outfielder Stephen Scott who was selected in the 10th round of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Vice President of Amateur Scouting Mike Rikard made the announcement.
Scott attended Vanderbilt University and helped the Commodores win their second-ever College World Series title in Omaha, Nebraska last week. He will report to short-season Single-A Lowell.
In all, 21 of the 40 players selected by Boston in the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft have been signed to contracts, including each of the club’s top three picks and nine of the top 10.
