Additional Yankees roster move - 7/6/23

Earlier today, the Yankees claimed LHP Anthony Misiewicz off waivers from the Detroit Tigers and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Misiewicz (mih-SEV-itch), 28, has posted a 1-0 record with an 8.64 ERA (8.1IP, 15H, 8ER, 3BB, 6K, 2HR) over eight combined relief appearances this season with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers. Additionally, he has gone 2-1 with a 4.41 ERA (16.1IP, 18H, 8ER, 6BB, 19K, 1HR) in 14 combined minor league appearances (one start) this year with Triple-A Reno, the ACL D-Backs Black and Triple-A Toledo.

Over parts of four Major League seasons (2020-23) with the Seattle Mariners (2020-22), Kansas City Royals (2022), Diamondbacks (2023) and Tigers (2023), he has gone 7-9 with a 4.74 ERA (112.0IP, 123H, 62R/59ER, 34BB, 111K, 2HP, 15HR) in 127 career relief appearances. The Detroit, Mich., native was originally drafted by the Mariners in the 18th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Michigan State University.
