The Astros Host Rival Texas Rangers and NL Powerhouse Atlanta Braves in Six-Game Homestand

HOUSTON, Texas – The Astros are set to begin their second homestand of the 2024 season as the reigning World Series Champion Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves come to town. The first game of the six-game homestand is set for Friday, April 12 at 7:10 p.m. CT against the Rangers at Minute Maid Park. The Silver Boot Series, presented by the Texas Lottery, will continue on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, before a three-game series with the Braves from April 15 - 17.

The weekend series against the Rangers is jam-packed with promotional items, including a Jose Altuve Replica Orange Jersey presented by Oxy, a Framber Valdez ‘No Hitter’ Bobblehead presented by Coca-Cola, and an Astros Orange Cowboy Hat, presented by Doggett.

The homestand will also include several promotional events like Pregame Happy Hour presented by Budweiser, Friday Night Fireworks presented by ConocoPhillips, and Sunday’s Kids Run the Bases presented by Olshan Foundation Services. Other discounted promotions are on offer as well, including Family Sunday, Coco-Cola Ballpark Bundle and Dollar Dog Night.

Jackie Robinson Day will also be celebrated on Monday, April 15.

Friday, April 12 – Astros vs. Texas Rangers: 7:10 p.m. CT
Game one of the second installment of the 2024 Silver Boot Series, presented by the Texas Lottery, and first at Minute Maid Park, begins against the Rangers at 7:10 p.m. The game will be televised on Space City Home Network with the English radio broadcast on KBME 790 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM, with MLB Network televising the game out of market.

10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Jose Altuve Replica Orange Jersey, presented by Oxy.

Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Michelob Ultra Bar, where fans can enjoy $5 Ultra Draft, a live DJ and amazing views.

The National Anthem will be sung by New Caney ISD.

In a pregame ceremony, the Astros Foundation will honor National Library Week. The Astros will highlight our hardworking librarians, including the librarians that work on the Astros Literacy Bus, which is sponsored by the Astros Foundation, Oxy, Houston Public Library, and HISD. Marsha Fischer, an Astros Literacy Bus staff member since 2018, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Friday Night Fireworks presented by ConocoPhillips are set for postgame, featuring the musical theme music by Miss Americana. Fireworks are subject to weather. In the event a show must be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be granted.

Saturday, April 13 – Astros vs. Rangers: 3:05 p.m. CT
Game two of the series with the Rangers is set for 3:05 p.m. CT on Saturday. The game will be broadcast on Space City Home Network and nationally on FS1, with the English radio broadcast on KBME 790 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans will receive a Framber Valdez ‘No Hitter’ Bobblehead, presented by Coca-Cola, in honor of Valdez’s no-hitter on August 1st last year against the Cleveland Guardians.

Houston Methodist will have a special pregame ceremony and ceremonial first pitch in honor of organ donor awareness.

The National Anthem will be performed by Heritage Elementary.

Sunday, April 14 – Astros vs. Rangers: 1:10 p.m. CT
The weekend series against the Rangers concludes on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on Space City Home Network (Alternate) with the English radio broadcast on KTRH 740 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM.

10,000 fans in attendance will receive an Astros Orange Cowboy Hat, presented by Doggett.

Sunday home games at Minute Maid Park are Family Sundays. Bring the whole family out to the ballpark with one of the two Family 4-Pack options, that include 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas.

The National Anthem will be sung by the Groves Middle School and Port Neches Middle School choirs.

Kids Run the Bases, presented by Olshan Foundation Solutions will take place following the game for kids in attendance ages 5-12.

A portion of the proceeds from Sunday’s LGI Homes 50/50 Share2Care raffle, will go to Children’s Assessment Center.

The homestand continues against the Braves on Monday at 7:10 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on Space City Home Network with the English radio broadcast on KBME 790 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM. The game will also be televised out of market on MLB Network.

The Astros will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day in many ways on Monday. The Astros Foundation distributed 100 copies of the book “I Never Had It Made,” which is an autobiography written by Jackie Robinson, to high school students from Mickey Leland College Prep and students from the Astros Youth Academy. Those students wrote an essay on Jackie Robinson and are invited to the game on April 15 and a special pregame reception in his honor.

During the Jackie Robinson Day pregame reception, held in the 42 Room at Minute Maid Park (a meeting space that celebrates the legacy of Jackie Robinson), the students will get a chance to hear from J.C. Hartman, Houston’s first Black major leaguer, who played for the Colt .45s from 1962-63. The students will also hear from Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars during this pregame reception and assistant GM Gavin Dickey. There will also be a celebration of J.C. Hartman’s 90th birthday during the reception, which is April 15, 1934.

Hartman will throw out a ceremonial first pitch in honor of Jackie Robinson Day.

Houston’s newest rising national recording artist, XANDI, will be performing the National Anthem.

The Astros and Braves will wear their special 42 jerseys in honor of Jackie Robinson on Monday.

Tuesday, April 16 – Astros vs. Blue Jays: 7:10 p.m. CT
Game two against the Braves is on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on Space City Home Network with the English radio broadcast on KBME 790 AM and the local Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM. The game will also be televised out of market on TBS.

Every Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park is Dollar Dog Night, presented by Texas Chili Company. Fans are treated to all-you-can-eat hot dogs that are just $1 each Tuesday home game during the season.

The National Anthem will be sung by the Houston Boys Choir.

Wednesday, April 17 – Astros vs. Braves: 1:10 p.m. CT
The homestand concludes with game three against the Braves on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on Space City Home Network with the English radio broadcast on KBME 790 AM and Spanish broadcast on TUDN 93.3 FM. The game can also be found out of market on ESPN+.

A portion of the proceeds from Wednesday’s LGI Homes 50/50 Share2Care raffle, will go to Trees for Houston.
