Royals announce times for 2019 regular season schedule
KANSAS CITY, MO (January 9, 2019) - In conjunction with Major League Baseball, the Kansas City Royals announced their 2019 regular season schedule with times today. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, March 28 at 3:15 p.m. vs. the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium. The opening series will continue Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31, both at 1:15 p.m.
The Royals will begin all 80 games at Kauffman Stadium at 15 minutes past the hour, including all weeknight games at 7:15 p.m. Nine of the 11 weekday afternoon games will begin at 12:15 p.m. The exceptions are Opening Day vs. the White Sox (3:15 p.m.) and Thursday, May 2 vs. Tampa Bay (1:15 p.m.).
Nine of the 13 Saturday home games will begin at 6:15 p.m. The four exceptions will feature a 1:15 p.m. first pitch, including: March 30 vs. the White Sox, May 25 vs. the New York Yankees, June 8 vs. the White Sox and June 22 vs. Minnesota. All Sunday home games are scheduled for 1:15 p.m., with the exception of the regular season finale on September 29 vs. Minnesota, which will start at 2:15 p.m.
The Royals will host the Detroit Tigers in the final game of a three-game set at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. on Thursday, June 13 at 7:05 p.m. The game will be part of the new GEICO Summer Series, and will be televised on ESPN.
Standard start times for 2019 games at Kauffman Stadium are:
Monday-Friday: 7:15 p.m.
Saturday: 6:15 p.m.
Sunday: 1:15 p.m.
