Royals reinstate OF Alex Gordon from DL; option Brett Eibner to Omaha

The Kansas City Royals announced today that four-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winning left fielder Alex Gordon has been returned from his rehab assignment and reinstated from the 15-day disabled list. Gordon, who has been out since May 23, will be in uniform for this evening's game against the Houston Astros at 6:15 p.m. To make room on the 25-man roster, the Royals optioned outfielder Brett Eibner to Omaha (AAA).
The Royals also announced that right-handed pitcher Kris Medlen will have his rehab assignment transferred to Omaha. He will start tonight's game in Nashville at 7:05 p.m.
