Singer/songwriter Jenae Cherry to debut original song at Oriole Park on Aug. 19

Following the 7:05 p.m. game against the Houston Astros on Friday, August 19, country music artist JENAE CHERRY will debut an original, Orioles-inspired song entitled "Don't Miss the Magic" at Oriole Park. Cherry will perform the song as part of a set before the postgame fireworks display, which is presented by Baltimore Area Credit Unions.
"Don't Miss the Magic" will be available for free that evening via streaming or download on SoundCloud. The Orioles Charitable Foundation will donate $5 to Shannon's Fund for each stream or download during the first week of availability (through August 26). Shannon's Fund is an endowment at the University of Maryland Medical Center that was established by the Orioles and OriolesREACH in 2008 in memory of SHANNON OBAKER, the club's former Director of Community Outreach. Obaker bravely fought cancer for a year before she passed away in 2007 at the age of 29. Shannon's Fund provides financial support to hospital patients and their families to assist with many expenses associated with the treatment process.
Cherry is the wife of Orioles pitcher BRAD BRACH. In 2011, she formed the Jenae Cherry Band and quickly became a country music staple in Nashville, Tenn. Her new EP, "Spinning," was released in late April and includes four original songs. The couple was married in 2013. Cherry recently performed at Oriole Park prior to the Orioles game on July 22.
Prior to the start of Friday's game, the Orioles and OriolesREACH will also host a fundraiser for Shannon's Fund on the center field Roof Deck, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Tickets, which are sold out, include an opportunity to watch batting practice, a visit from an Orioles player, photographs with the Oriole Bird, an Orioles gift, and much more. Cherry and several Orioles Wives will be in attendance, while country music artist and Virginia native, KEVIN MaC, and Nashville musician, GREYLAN JAMES, will each perform at the Roof Deck fundraiser. MaC will also perform a set of original songs before Saturday's 7:05 p.m. game versus Houston, as well as the national anthem and "America the Beautiful" during the seventh-inning stretch.
Fans wishing to contribute to Shannon's Fund can donate at www.orioles.com/shannonsfund, or stream or download "Don't Miss the Magic" on SoundCloud from August 19-26, to generate an automatic $5 donation from the Orioles Charitable Foundation.
