Steve Ethier named Brewers Senior Vice President -- Stadium Operations
The Milwaukee Brewers today named Steve Ethier to the position of senior vice president -- stadium operations.
Ethier will oversee all Miller Park Stadium Operations, including facilities, grounds, event services, security, stadium cleaning and other projects.
"We are pleased to welcome Steve back to the Brewers in a senior management role as he brings an impressive combination of skills and experience to this position," said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. "We know he will be a major asset to our Miller Park operations and the entire Brewers organization."
Ethier makes his return to the Brewers organization upon completing his fifth season as the senior vice president -- stadium operations with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He began his career in Major League Baseball in 1989 with the Minnesota Twins as assistant director of operations before a 15-year stint with the Milwaukee Brewers as manager of team travel (1992-97), director of event services (1997-2003) and vice president of ballpark operations (2003-06). Ethier played a role in the planning and opening of Miller Park in 2001.
After leaving Milwaukee, Ethier joined the Washington Nationals in 2006 as vice president of ballpark operations, where he contributed to the planning process that led to the opening of Nationals Park in 2008. He also worked for the Miami Marlins as vice president of ballpark operations and contributed to the planning and opening of Marlins Park before joining the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013.
"I am thrilled to be returning to Milwaukee and I look forward to serving the organization in this new role with much anticipation." Ethier said.
Ethier is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and will officially begin his duties with the Brewers on Friday, December 22.
