Student Achiever Awards Program enters 33rd season

MILWAUKEE – Brewers Community Foundation and the Milwaukee Brewers welcome UW Credit Union as a new sponsor for the Student Achiever Awards Program in 2019, an initiative that has rewarded students in southeastern Wisconsin for academic achievement and effort for the past 33 seasons.

“Brewers Community Foundation is thrilled to welcome UW Credit Union to our long-standing initiative,” said Cecelia Gore, executive director of BCF. “We are proud to have a new partner in our effort to recognize the students that are working hard throughout the year to build the foundation for a successful future.”

The Student Achiever Awards Program began in 1987 as a format to recognize students for not only their academic achievement, but also to reward those students giving their best effort in school.

“UW Credit Union is proud to enhance our commitment to education through the Student Achiever Awards Program,” said Anne Norman, UW Credit Union’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “We’re excited about this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the efforts and achievements of students in our community.”

The program is open to public, private and parochial schools comprised of grades 7-12 in the counties of Dodge, Fond du Lac, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha. Over 24,000 students in more than 700 schools are eligible for recognition.

School administrators submit the names of students who represent 12% of their school’s 7-12 grade enrollment, half of which are based on academic excellence and the other half on academic effort. Each student who is selected will receive a Student Achiever Award honor certificate and two complimentary tickets to one of 18 select regular-season Brewers home games in 2019.

A printable online booklet will be available at brewers.com/BCF in early June listing each student’s name by school. In addition, selected students will be recognized as a group on the scoreboard at each of the aforementioned 18 select dates and have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch.
