This weekend, the Texas Rangers Youth Academy is set to host baseball teams from RBI Alaska, a Major League Baseball-affiliated program which supports urban and rural youth baseball and softball players in Alaska.
Rangers Youth Academy athletes from the 18U and 15U divisions will face off against the Alaskan visitors in a series of scrimmages scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 15, and Sunday, Nov. 16.
This will be the second time this year that the Rangers Youth Academy has welcomed out-of-state teams for exhibition contests at its West Dallas faciliy after it played host to youngsters from Baseball Pathways New Zealand in early August.

Class of 2026 college baseball and softball commitments update
That’s 10: The Texas Rangers Youth Academy has 10 athletes in the class of 2026 currently committed to play baseball or softball at the college level. Since opening its doors in 2018, the Academy has seen over 150 of its participants go on to sign with collegiate programs.
I Like Texas: Of the 10 commits in this year’s class, six are expected to continue their respective playing careers at programs in the state of Texas: Daylon Brooks (University of Texas at Arlington, Baseball), Madison Cotilla (Hill College, Softball), Jalen McLin (Panola College, Baseball), Jernie Nerio (Weatherford College, Softball), Joleigh Richards (Weatherford College, Softball), Nicholas Smith (University of Texas at Arlington, Baseball).
Texas Exes: Four of the class of 2026 commits are slated to join college programs outside of Texas: Grace Chaisson (Louisiana State University at Eunice, Softball), Annabelle Cravey (Sterling College, Softball), Grecia De La Garza (Pratt College, Softball) and Amira Forbit (Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Softball).
Rangers Youth Academy to hold annual Thanksgiving turkey distribution on Nov. 21
Turkey Time: The Texas Rangers Youth Academy is once again set to partner with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Bucker International for its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution on Friday, November 21. The event is scheduled to take place at the Academy’s Mercy Street Sports Complex presented by Toyota in West Dallas from 6-7 p.m.
Hope for the Holidays: This year’s distribution will benefit approximately 250 preselected families with children participating in Rangers Youth Academy programming, providing them with full-size turkeys, sides and desserts to prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
