Trot Nixon to throw ceremonial first pitch before Game 1 of ALDS at Fenway Park

Former Red Sox right fielder Trot Nixon will throw the ceremonial first pitch in ceremonies preceding Game 1 of the American League Division Series (ALDS) at Fenway Park this Friday, October 5. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7:32 p.m. 
Nixon, a North Carolina native and current Wilmington resident, is organizing a collection at all Fenway Park gates on Friday to benefit those affected by Hurricane Florence in that state. The collection will take place from the time gates open at 5:32 p.m., through the 2nd inning.   
Proceeds from the collection will benefit American Red Cross relief efforts in North Carolina.
