Twins select 41 players in 2019 MLB Draft
The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have completed the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. The Twins finished the draft on the third day selecting 30 players in rounds 11-40. In all, the Twins selected 19 right-handed pitchers, four left-handed pitchers, 12 infielders, four outfielders and two catchers. Of the 41 total players selected, 33 were drafted out of college and eight out of high school. Additionally, the Twins selected four players from Minnesota in outfielder Matt Wallner (Forest Lake, MN), right-handed pitcher Louie Varland (Maplewood, MN), left-handed pitcher Drew Gilbert (Stillwater, MN) and right-handed pitcher Will Frisch (Stillwater, MN).
