Twins Homestand Highlights: September 11-16

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins return to Target Field tomorrow night for their 12th and penultimate homestand of the season, looking to move up in the Wild Card standings with three games against a team they are chasing for playoff position, the Cleveland Guardians (September 11-13), and three against the New York Yankees (September 14- 16). The Twins lead the season series vs. the Guardians, 6-4, and against the Yankees, 2-1.

SALUTE TO SERVICE WEEKEND PRESENTED BY SECURIAN FINANCIAL

The Twins, in partnership with the Minnesota National Guard, will honor first responders, veterans and active service members from five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces during the September 11-13 Salute to Service Weekend presented by Securian Financial. All three Twins vs. Cleveland games this weekend will include pre- and in-game ceremonies: Friday night, the Twins join Major League Baseball in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001; Saturday, the club hosts the inaugural Veterans Service Organization Day; and Sunday marks the Twins’ 23rd Armed Forces Appreciation Day.

FRIDAY AND SUNDAY FLYOVERS

Friday night’s game will feature a pregame flyover by a Lockheed C-130H3 aircraft, operated by the Minnesota Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Squadron/133rd Airlift Wing based in St. Paul. Sunday’s flyover will include four T-6A Texan aircraft, piloted by members of the 39th Flying Training Squadron “Cobras” from Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

A NOTE FROM OUR FRIENDS AT MnDOT

As part of ongoing I-394 and I-94 construction, the eastbound I-394 ramp to eastbound I-94 will be closed from 10 pm Friday, September 11 through 5 am Monday, September 14. I-394 will be open to traffic heading into downtown Minneapolis. Fans can get the latest information and traffic updates via MnDOT.

TWINS AND VIKINGS

The City of Minneapolis plays host to a big sports Sunday on September 13, as the Twins play the Cleveland Guardians at Target Field (1:10 p.m. first pitch), followed by the Vikings hosting the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium (3:25 p.m. kickoff). The Twins encourage all fans to plan ahead, arrive early and consider all transportation options available.

TWINS VS. CLEVELAND GUARDIANS: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 (3 GAMES)

Friday, September 11 vs. Cleveland Guardians presented by Securian Financial (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)

• 9/11 Remembrance: The Twins and Guardians will join Major League Baseball in commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, as part of Salute to Service Weekend presented by Securian Financial.
  • Pregame Wreath Placements: Six wreaths, each representing a different group and commemorating lives lost, will be placed behind the pitcher's mound pregame, then moved to the flag poles near Gate 34 for the game> The wreaths will honor: United States Armed Forces; placed by Brigadier General Simon Schaefer, who led an airport security detail to restore confidence for travelers following the attacks. Law Enforcement; placed by Shakopee Police Chief Jamie Pearson and Golden Valley Assistant Chief Rudy Perez. Firefighters; placed by John Cunningham, a Connecticut firefighter who responded to Ground Zero after the attacks and later became Brooklyn Park Fire Chief. Emergency Medial Services; placed by Scott Brethorst and Shane Hallow from Hennepin EMS. International Citizens; placed by Army Major Olukayode Oni, a Nigerian immigrant and now American citizen and officer in the Minnesota National Guard. American Citizens, placed by Jim Anderson, retired United Airlines captain and founder of the United Pilots 9/11 committee.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Ian Mason, a Mae and George Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation Scholarship Program Ambassador. Ian is the son of Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Michael Mason, who passed away from a service-connected illness in 2007.
  • National Anthem: "The Star-Spangled Banner" will be performed by trumpeter Mark Holton.
  • Flyover: A flyover by a Lockheed C-130H3 aircraft operated by the St. Paul-based Minnesota Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Squadron/133rd Airlift Wing.
  • "God Bless America": "God Bless America" will be performed during the seventh-inning stretch by Sergeant Nathaniel Olson, a vocalist and trumpeter for the 204th Army Reserve Band our of Vancouver, Washington and Fort Snelling, Minnesota
• Pregame Happy Hour - $2 Beers & $2 Food: Fans 21+ with valid ID can enjoy $2 beers (12-ounce cans of Budweiser, Bud Light and Summit Twins Pils); all fans can take advantage of $2 hot dogs and $2 ballpark snacks. All $2 items are available at select concession stands throughout Target Field from 5:00-7:10 p.m.
• Minnesota Twins Community Fund Fundraising: The Minnesota Twins Community Fund will have a table set up on the Main Concourse across from Sections 115-116, where fans can purchase grab bags for $25 (kids backpack) or $35 (adult bag). One in three bags contain a signed item from a current or former Twins player - including several baseballs signed by top prospect Walker Jenkins. Additionally, fans who donate $100 to the MTCF via the QR code at the booth will receive a free UNRL hoodie. All proceeds benefit the MTCF and its work to ensure equitable access to baseball and softball for youth across Twins Territory.

Saturday, September 12 vs. Cleveland Guardians presented by Securian Financial (3:10 p.m.; gates open at 1:00 p.m.)

• Veterans Service Organization Day: The Twins are proud to celebrate the inaugural Veterans Service Organization Day, which celebrates military veterans for their service to our country and honors 21 groups working every day to serve and assist veterans and their families.

  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by retired Major General Neal Loidolt, who is retiring from his position as President and CEO of MACV after a 30-year military career that included service with the Minnesota National Guard, multiple deployments and numerous honors.
  • National Anthem: "The Star-Spangled Banner" will be performed by Specialist Austin Kulm from the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division Band.
• DNR Days: Fans who purchase a Minnesota hunting or fishing license for the 2026 season will also gain access to this special group event package that includes a ticket to the game plus a Twins fishing hat! Package available for pickup on select dates throughout the season.
• UnitedHealthcare Community Champion of the Homestand: Prior to Saturday's game, The Twins will recognize Dalton Outlaw as the UnitedHealthcare Community Champion of the Homestand. Dalton has dedicated his life to creating opportunities and positive change for others, after experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity as a child and adult. He opened Element Gym, a local boxing gym built around mentorship, community and providing a supportive resource for youth and families. After stepping away from a professional boxing career to focus on serving his community, Dalton continued his mission by founding Outlaw Development to create housing opportunities for St. Paul's most vulnerable residents. Through his leadership, Outlaw Development secured more than $3 million in funding to support Magnolia Flats, a new affordable housing project in East St. Paul that provides safe, stable housing opportunities for community members in need.

• Armed Forces Appreciation Day: The 23rd Armed Forces Appreciation Day celebrates America's 250th birthday by honoring our military communities - the generations of brave men and women who have stood up in the face of danger to be part of something bigger than themselves. The Twins will again salute veterans and active service members from five branches of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard), while paying respect to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country.
  • Gate Giveaway: The first 15,000 fans through the Target Field gates will receive a handheld American flag.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Captain Tony Kaskinen of the Minnesota National Guard, who embodies service to community and country. He worked as a gym teacher for St. Paul Public Schools and as an athletic trainer for Concordia University, before turning his military logistics background into a full-time career. Captain Kaskinen currently serves with the 134th Brigade Support Battalion at Camp Ripley and has deployed to Iraq.

Tuesday, September 15 vs. New York Yankees presented by O’Shaughnessy (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

• Roberto Clemente Day / Hispanic Heritage Recognition: The Twins and Yankees will join Major League Baseball in recognizing Roberto Clemente Day on September 15. This day pays tribute to the life, legacy and impact of the late National Baseball Hall of Famer, who tragically lost his life on New Year's Eve 1972 while on a humanitarian mission to assist earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
  • Pregame Art Exhibit: On Target Field Station from 3:00 p.m. through the end of the second inning, fans can explore and experience the work of local Chicano artist Jimmy Longoria, who is the only Chicano to be awarded a Bush Foundation Fine Artist Fellowship, and the only Minnesotan to have art on permanent display in Chicago's National Museum of Mexican Art.
  • Pregame Dance Performance: Fans can enjoy performances by Minnesota-based Ritmo Latino Dance Company at Target Field Station and on the field prior to the game!   • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Christian Alberto Ledesma, who serves as Principal of Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. Ledesma has spent 25 years dedicated to public education in Minneapolis and New York City and, in 2025, he was named Minnesota's High School Principal of the Year.
  • Team USA Women's Hockey Gold Medal Winners Recognition: The Twins will celebrate the gold medal-winning 2026 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team with a special on-field recognition. The team will be in Blaine, Minnesota next week for USA Women's Hockey National Team Training Camp, as they prepare to defend their world title at the 2026 IIHF Women's World Championship this November in Denmark.
