Twins place Polanco on Bereavement List

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed shortstop Jorge Polanco on the Bereavement List after the death of his grandfather.
To replace Polanco on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled first baseman Kennys Vargas from Triple-A Rochester. In a previous stint with the Twins this season, Vargas appeared in 24 games hitting .258 (23-for-89) with five home runs and 19 RBI. He will join the team tonight in Seattle.
