Twins Return Austin Martin from Rehab Assignment, Reinstate from 10-Day Injured List

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned outfielder Austin Martin from rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day Injured List.

Martin, who was placed on the IL on August 17 with a left hamstring strain, played in two games on rehab assignment this week with Triple-A St. Paul, going 3-for-8 with one triple and three RBI. Prior to landing on the IL, he played in 110 games for the Twins this season, hitting .241 (68-for-282) with 17 doubles, three home runs, 23 RBI, 41 runs scored, 43 walks, 12 stolen bases and a .352 on-base percentage.

To make room for Martin on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder Gabby Gonzlaez to St. Paul. Gonzalez played in six games over his recent stint with Minnesota, going 1-for-6 with one hit-by-pitch.
