Waiver claim

The Indians today claimed RHP DIEGO MORENO off outright waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays. To allow room on the 40-man roster the Indians transferred LHP BOONE LOGAN from the 10-day D.L. to the 60-day D.L.
Moreno, 30, spent two months of the 2017 season (May 22-July 26) on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation and has split his appearances between Tampa Bay, AAA Charlotte and on rehab at Class-A Charlotte. With the Rays, the Higuerote, Venezuela native posted a 4.76 ERA in 5 relief appearances (5.2IP, 6H, 3ER) and 1.10 ERA at AAA Durham (16.1IP, 9H, 2R/ER, 17SO). He has appeared in 9 games in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees (2015) and Rays (2017) and owns a career Minor League ERA of 3.01 in 248 outings/14 starts since signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates in August of 2006 (415.2IP, 342H, 139ER, 117BB, 429SO).
