WHITE SOX CELEBRATE 1983 “WINNING UGLY” TEAM WITH SPECIAL REUNION AT RATE FIELD 

The Chicago White Sox will welcome back members of the 1983 American League West Division Championship team for a special pregame reunion ahead of the game against Kansas City on Saturday, June 27 at 3:10 p.m. Attendees include players, coaches and staff from the historic “Winning Ugly” roster.

The reunion commemorates one of the most memorable seasons in franchise history, highlighted by a 99-win campaign that marked the team’s first postseason appearance since the 1959 World Series, clinched on September 17.

Fans will have the opportunity to relive the excitement of the 1983 season with a meet-and-greet experience in the ballpark Patio, photo opportunities and a special pregame ceremony. Saturday’s game also includes an America’s 250th Homage T-Shirt gate giveaway, presented by Coca-Cola (15,000 fans).

Saturday’s game also features the second of two 1980s-themed throwback broadcasts on Chicago Sports Network (CHSN), with expanded coverage and exclusive features available through the CHSN app. In addition to interviews with key members of the historic roster, the telecast will incorporate retro-inspired graphics and production elements designed to replicate the look and feel of 1980s baseball broadcasts, creating a fully immersive viewing experience. The game also will be available via simulcast on WCIU-TV.
