White Sox option Kevan Smith to Class AAA Charlotte

CHICAGO - Following tonight's game vs. Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox optioned catcher Kevan Smith to Class AAA Charlotte.
Smith, 28, went 1-11 (.091) in three games with the White Sox after his contract was purchased from Charlotte on April 13. He was hitting .438 (7-16) with two doubles, nine RBI, four runs scored and three walks in four games with the Knights this season. 
The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow's game against the Indians.
