Yankees open second half on Friday at Yankee Stadium with Subway Series
After going 62-33 and recording their best first half since 1998, the New York Yankees will open the second half of the season at Yankee Stadium with a three-game Subway Series from Fri., July 20 - Sun., July 22 vs. the New York Mets.
Following a brief three-game road trip from Mon., July 23 - Wed., July 25 at Tampa Bay, the Yankees will return home for a six-game homestand. The homestand will include four games from Thurs., July 26 - Sun., July 29 vs. the Kansas City Royals and two games from Tues., July 31 - Wed., Aug 1 vs. the Baltimore Orioles.
In an effort to provide fans with increased opportunities to watch the Yankees take batting practice, Gates 6 and 8 will open at 4:00 p.m. on Fri., July 20 and Fri., July 27. Guests entering the park at that time will be able to view batting practice from the Bleachers and 100 Level outfield sections of the Stadium.
On Saturday, July 21, the Yankees will recognize Esther Fadumiye - a Bronx teen that recently graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School - who did not miss a single day of school from kindergarten through high school.
On Sunday, July 22, the Yankees will welcome Manchester City Football Club. Manager Pep Guardiola, who guided the club to the 2017-18 Premier League Championship, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and Manchester City's championship trophy will be on display in the Yankees Museum presented by Bank of America. Fans should note that Sunday's game has an 8:05 p.m. scheduled first pitch time.
The Yankees will host Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 28. The day will include a special pregame ceremony honoring the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a nonprofit that provides post-secondary scholarships and counseling to surviving children of Special Operations personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. The Foundation also provides financial assistance to severely combat-wounded Special Operations personnel. The day will also include a pregame appearance from the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Jump team. Additionally, Vice Admiral, USN, Retired Former Commander Naval Special Warfare Command, Joe Maguire, who now serves as President and CEO of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Author and television host Martha Stewart will visit the Stadium on Tuesday, July 31, to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Stewart will host a signing for her newest book, Martha's Flowers, in the SAP Lounge from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
