If you haven’t already experienced a Shuckers game or haven’t been to one in a while, here are a few tips on what the experience will actually be like. With the regular season home schedule ending on September 5 and Game 2 of the Southern League Division Series scheduled for September 17, time is running out to get in on the fun!

Here’s What To Know Before You Go
Get There Before First Pitch
- One of the best tips for a smoother evening is to arrive a little early. There are often giveaways for the first 1,000 guests, so you might even score some merch!
- Gates open 65 minutes before the game starts, which gives everyone time to find their seats, walk around the ballpark and grab food before things get busy.
- It also gives kids a chance to take everything in. The lights, the music, the crowd and everything happening around the stadium are part of the experience.
- Before heading out, check the Shuckers schedule to see if your game includes anything extra like fireworks, giveaways, themed entertainment or special activities.
Let the Kids Explore
- Parents know that asking kids to sit still for an entire evening usually doesn’t work. Luckily, they won’t have to at a Shuckers game! It’s quite the opposite.
- Keesler Federal Park has plenty of places where younger fans can burn off some energy. Kids can cool off in Schooner’s Splash Zone, play in the sand and beach area beyond the outfield and enjoy activities happening between innings. Family Sundays are especially popular because they often include things like player autographs, catch on the field and opportunities for kids to get closer to the action (in which families can bring their own balls and gloves and play catch in the grass area!) and the Sunday Fun Day Package which includes four tickets, hot dogs, chips and drinks for $76 (all that for only $19 per person plus $19 for each additional ticket!)

A Few Things Parents Should Know
- A little preparation goes a long way.
- Children younger than 2 years old can attend without a ticket as long as they sit on a parent or guardian’s lap. Folding strollers are welcome, and family restrooms and changing stations are available throughout the stadium.

Getting to Keesler Federal Park
- The location is one of the reasons a Shuckers game is easy for locals or fits so easily into a Gulf Coast trip.
- The ballpark sits in downtown Biloxi, just minutes from the beach, hotels and many popular attractions and centrally located for the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast. Families coming from Gulfport, Ocean Springs, D’Iberville, Long Beach, Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis, Pascagoula or the many cities within an hour’s drive off the Coast can also make the drive without turning the evening into a major outing.
- There are more than 8,500 parking spaces within walking distance, making arrival and departure pretty simple.
Make It a Full Evening
The best part about a Shuckers game is that it doesn’t require much planning. It can be dinner after work. A break from the hotel pool. A way to end a beach day. The kids get a night out, parents get to relax and everyone gets to enjoy the ever-present Gulf breeze, a view of the beach and a little Mississippi Gulf Coast entertainment together.
