HUNTSVILLE, AL – Despite eight strikeouts and one earned run over 6.0 innings from starter Jaron DeBerry, the Biloxi Shuckers (56-59, 21-29) fell to the Rocket City Trash Pandas (61-57, 26-24), 2-0, at Toyota Field on Saturday night. DeBerry enters Sunday with a Southern League-leading 127 strikeouts, 12 more than any other pitcher. DeBerry is looking to become the first Shuckers pitcher to win the Southern League strikeout crown since Tobias Myers in 2023.

The Trash Pandas scored both runs in the fourth inning, on an RBI triple from Caleb Bartolero and a throwing error on a pickoff to third that allowed him to score. Tyler Bremner (1-2) earned the win while Jaron DeBerry (7-8) took the loss. Camden Minacci earned his second save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.

On offense, Luis Peña (1-for-4) extended his hit streak to five consecutive games and Jesús Made recorded his 33rd stolen base of the season, the ninth-most in the Southern League. After DeBerry exited, Ryan Birchard (1.0ip, 1k) and Yorman Galindez (1.0ip, 1k) combined for a pair of scoreless relief innings.

The series concludes on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 4:05 p.m. J.D. Thompson (0-2, 6.43) is scheduled to start for the Shuckers against Eybersson Polanco (4-7, 3.97) for the Trash Pandas. Coverage begins at 3:45 p.m. with the On-Deck Show on the Biloxi Shuckers Radio Network and The Hype 100.9.
