MADISON, AL – The Biloxi Shuckers (1-2) fell to the Rocket City Trash Pandas (2-1), 3-1, in Game Three of the Southern League Championship Series on Wednesday night at Toyota Field. With the loss, the Shuckers were eliminated from the Southern League playoffs, with Rocket City capturing its first championship in franchise history. The Shuckers fell after reaching the Southern League Championship Series for the fourth time in franchise history.
The Trash Pandas struck first with an RBI single from Nick Rodriguez in the third, making it 1-0. Tucker Flint made it 2-0 in the fourth with an RBI single. The Shuckers cut the deficit to 2-1 in the seventh when a balk allowed Damon Keith to score from third. Arjun Nimmala made it 3-1 in the seventh with a solo home run.
Austin Gordon (2-0) earned the win while J.D. Thompson (1-1) took the loss. Kenyon Yovan earned his second save of the postseason with four strikeouts over 1.2 scoreless innings. Damon Keith (2-for-4) and Matthew Wood (2-for-4) each recorded multi-hit performances. Out of the bullpen, Jesús Broca (1.0ip, 0r, 2k), Stiven Cruz (1.1ip, 0r, 3k) and Travis Smith (1.0ip, 0r) each recorded scoreless outings in relief. The Shuckers return to action for Opening Day, 2027, on Friday, April 2, against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
